A tradition of the Bamileke people in the Cameroonian grasslands, Ndop textiles are made from narrow bands of cotton woven in the north of the country, not far from Garoua. Onto these, women apply motifs using raffia thread. The fabric is then reserve-dyed with indigo. Their varied repertoire is inspired by the motifs used to decorate traditional homes and by the drawings of the Wukari people of Nigeria.
