4 Ways to Wear an Hermes Pleated Scarf

Effortless & Extra
at the same time

If you’re looking for an Hermes scarf that feels both casual and extra special, then the pleated (or plisse) option is your player. The pleats give such an understated and also unusual look due to the draping that they create, and they also help with a slimmer feel for some ease. Take a look at the tutorial above for 4 easy ways to wear an Hermes pleated scarf (also on Instagram and TikTok).

How Can I Buy an Hermes Pleated Scarf?

  1. Pleating Service
Hermes used to give you the option to pleat your scarves and this is probably my favorite service that has been discontinued in the early 2000’s, however it is still available as a “request service” today. Your silk scarf will be sent to Paris and can take 4-6 weeks.

2. In Store as of Spring/Summer 2023
In Spring/Summer 2023 Hermes brought back the pleated silk scarf in the form of “Eleftheria” pleated scarf 140. And in Spring/Summer 2024 offered the “Twilly au Bloc” pleated scarf 90 as their second offering of a pleated option.

5. Second Hand
At the moment there are many Hermes pleated scarves on the secondhand market and pricing usually lands within the $100-$300 range depending on condition.

How Do I Maintain the Pleats on an Hermes Pleated Scarf?

I find the pleats quite easy to maintain as long as:

  1. Kept away from moisture or too much humidity

  2. Stored in the box with the pleats evenly spaced

  3. Do not tie it too tightly for too long or it can damage the pleats
