3 Ways to Use the Hermes Chaine d’Anchor Scarf Ring
The shape may look abstract,
But there are so many ways to use it
Originally designed by Robert Dumas, this iconic anchor chain motif has become synonymous with the Hermès brand's elegance and craftsmanship. It’s modeled after the anchor chains (as the name suggests) that Dumas saw off the coast of Normandy. It dates back to 1938 when Hermès first used this motif in bracelet format. Since then, the Chaine d'Ancre, has adorned everything from necklaces to belts, bags and scarf rings, embodying the perfect balance of simplicity and luxury.
So let’s take a look at 3 of my favorites ways to use the Chaine d’Anchor scarf ring.

Featuring “Douze Leopards” 90cm Double Face Scarf
“Douze Leopards” is Jin Kwon, which was first issued in 2023.
I purchased this one new from the Hermes store in Saint Barth’s in 2023 and loved both sides of this double face design, plus all the leopards are so playful and cute.
What is an Hermes “Double Face” Scarf?
This is when the silk scarf has the pattern printed on both sides with 2 different colorways. My favorite side is actually the backs side, “side 2” because of the delicate outlined look and the neon colors.
About the “Douze Leopards” Scarf
“It’s time for these twelve leopards to rest. All of them laze around, half hidden by the foliage or slumbering in the center of a strange open-air workroom. All of them? No! One of them has put on a pair of glasses and is enjoying the contents of a mysterious book, while another is exploring scrolls in a box. The Korean artist Jin Kwon creates a dream in the spirit of the folding screens of her country, at the heart of a jungle where sophistication and curiosity abound. The abundance of vegetation is matched by the countless knick-knacks, pots and notebooks in the colors of Hermès: a fascinating disarray that is fitting for any collector.” - hermes.com
