Hermes "La Joie de Vivre" Cotton 70
Why I Love This Pattern: I've been obsessed with this pattern for years, and with so little information available, I've managed to piece together a few key details about it, while I was on the hunt for my own. And yes, I also have one in my own collection! 1. It was originally released as part of a seasonal series, with a similar design created for each of the four seasons. 2. It was only issued once, and exclusively in cotton. 3. The chic summer estate featured might be located in Monaco! Joachim Metz also created a limited-edition Monaco-themed scarf in 2008, where a similar summer estate with checker tiles and horse appear in the design. I've also written a full blog post with more information about this scarf.
Why I Love This Size: The 70cm format is actually my favorite out of all the sizes. I find it small enough where I’m not overwhelmed by fabric, but big enough when I can still do a few fancier knots. The 70cm also uses a lighter weight silk than any of the other sizes, which gives it a casual effortless look. I always recommend this size for petites as well, it’s almost a petite version of a 90cm. But even if you’re taller it works perfectly too. Here are some ways I love to style a 70cm scarf— here, here and here.
