From The Hermès Spring-Summer 2001 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: An immense forest where flows a river almost as long as the Nile! Here we find the lungs of the world, but also the victim of aggressive progress. In the depths of its luxuriance man encounters the Morpho butterfly, the "flower-seducing" humming-bird, the toucan proud of his beak and the great hyacinth-coloured macaw. Sumptuously decked out with feathers the Wayana Indian, musing on nearby Eldorado, of fabulous memory, is observing the emblematic figure of the jaguar.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
