From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2012/13 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Inspired by an astrological table dating from the Renaissance, the scarf Astrologie, by Françoise Faconnet, shows the ingenious system indicating the passages of the moon and sun. It is, in a way, an image of time passing. Yet the world and our time changes; rhythms are accelerating and time becomes a tempo. Reinterpreted by Cyrille Diatkine, the design, transfigured, finds modernity and vigour. The alternating patterns reinvent history, upset the rhythm, syncopate the story, leaving to each the choice to read it in a "disordered order"-free and random. Play with time.
