From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2011/12 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: For over thirty years, Annie Favre has been designing scarves, and here she has selected eighteen of them to compose her nineteenth work. Each of her exuberant, generous designs conceals a small monkey, nestled in a tree, perched on a camel, or hanging from a creeper. A memento, a signature, a mascot, this mischievous creature is the breadcrumb trail linking one scarf to the next, each theme to story, or voyage to savoir-faire according to the subjects illustrated. United here, they speak of cultures, craftsmen, water, land and sun...befitting a game of riddles the clues to which are the titles of the scarves. Who will find Libres comme /'air, Tapis volants or Ors nomades?
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
