From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2018 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: A mischievous leopard has slipped into the heart of a baobab flower. For the Zulu kings, this majestic big cat incarnated their noble status, while the baobab represented power and grace. The flowers of this colossal tree only open at dusk just when the leopard ventures out in search of its prey. The play on composition blends the animal and the plant into a single being. haloed by a crown of white-speckled feathers. The Ardmore artists' collective works to promote the style and traditional imagery of the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa, where it was founded by Fée Hasted in 1985
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
