From The Hermes Fall-Winter 1989/90 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: One of the crowning achievements of literature is the heartrending scene in Homer's Iliad, when Hector, about to die in battle, embraces his wife Andromache for the last time, while Astyanax, their son, plays with his father's helmet. With all due respect to the Homeric tradition, let us be moved by more modern classics: a collection of four helmets worn by 19th-century French heroes.

From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2012/13 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Masterpieces ofthe metalsmiths' craft, some armor leaves us speechless with its subtlety and complexity as an ornament-true paintings etched in metal. Over time, only helmets--the outlines and ornaments of which vary according to rank and weapons--have survived. Superb plumes also allow us to identify the men, without taking away any of their "panache". Here the French cavalry are honoured. The helmets date from the 19th century; the plates arranged at the corners of the composition adorned the helmets of the Musketeers under the house of King Louis XIlI. Would this be of The Three Musketeers from the famous novel by Alexandre Dumas?
