From The Hermès Fall-Winter 1998/99 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Warnings used to be the speciality of trains, which once were full of those quadrilingual notices forbidding people to lean out of the windows. They were there too in Pompeii, whose "Cave canem" would nowadavs be "Beware of the pitbull!" Here we merely choose to remind mice and little insects to be particularly careful when it comes to cats -feline and with no real malice, they nevertheless play dangerously.

Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
