From The Hermes Fall-Winter 2010/11 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: A fan or fine ribs inspired by the large leaves of the palm, the skirt of a hundred folds is spread upon a carpet of delicate patterns, which symbolise the culture and craft of the Miao people. In the south-west of China, protected by the mountains of the Moon, women weave, create batiks, and embroider, reproducing the colours and symbols belonging to their group. Each young girl possesses a skirt of a hundred folds and silver jewellery, as betokened by this little carved horse, who prances from fold to fold. This carré prompted a meeting with the Museum of Quai Branly in Paris. Offered by Hermes, this skirt now figures amongst its collections.

- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
