From The Hermes Fall-Winter 2016/17 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: A composition by Hermès from the collection of drawings owned by the family of Robert Dallet, this scarf pays homage to the artist and his passion for big cats. A self-taught naturalist, Dallet devoted his life to the animal world. His work - as remarkable for its scientific precision as for the beauty of the artist's touch - draws a sensitive portrait of lives in the wild that man can only marvel at. Dallet studied the animals meticulously and was committed to sketching each species of feline to reproduce their every movement with great precision. He conveyed his understanding of the world using three tools: the eye, the hand and the pencil.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
