From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2020/21 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: A strong theme of the mile Hermès collection is equestrian art. It is also the subject of an extraordinary treatise on horsemanship entitled Della Cavalleria, written by German author Georg Engelhard von Löhneysen and printed at his home in Bavaria in 1609. Composed of numerous baroque engravings on wood and copper, the book is an encyclopedia of not just dressage and anatomy, but also tournaments and festivities giving rise to some remarkable and spectacular illustrations Here, Virginie Jamin uses a few harness parts as her model, working on lines like an engraver. This emblematic design is offered this season in a new double-sided version, in multicoloured madras on one side and monochrome finesse on the other.

- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
