From The Hermes Fall-Winter 1988/89 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Centered around the majestic jaguar, this design has so much detail beyond that. Lush Brazilian flora creates a rich, layered frame with the incredible biodiversity of South America. Robert Dallet hoped to draw attention to the fragile beauty of this wildlife, which risks disappearing as deforestation continues. This scarf simply wouldn’t be what it is without the presence of these extraordinary animals.

From The Hermès Spring-Summer 2019 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: The equatorial zone of South America has remarkably diverse fauna and flora that were a marvellous source of inspiration for the passionate naturalist Robert Dallet. Around a jaguar, the solitary big cat that prowls dense forests, a whole population of wild animals busies itself. The ocelot and the margay- small felines, sharp and keen - dominate the scene and frame a spider monkey, a sloth and toucans. Then comes the ballet of the macaws, parakeets and a cock-of-the-rock, followed by the white-headed capuchin, the woolly monkey and the ringtail. On the ground rest roseate spoonbills, a sunbittern with its wings spread, a scarlet ibis... A composition of multiple voices.
