Why I Love This Pattern: First of all, the bows are so modern, coquettish, and the beautiful magentas completely transform the traditional look of this motif. Françoise de La Perrière drew inspiration from the remarkable Émile Hermès collection to create “Étriers” or “Stirrups.” The design showcases stirrups from across America, the Middle East, France, and Spain, used by both men and side-saddle lady riders. I love the intricate details featuring flowers, stars, and even mythical creatures. This one is an older edition and has a hidden copyright in the nailhead at the bottom.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
