From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2020/21 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Jan Baitlik invites us to a universal exhibition full of surprises. Absurd humour and nods to history punctuate this multi-coloured map in which dinosaurs frolic under a cloche and penguins dance underwater. A Tower of Babel transformed into a helter-skelter stands near a Trojan horse housing a spa, while four drones hold the Great Pyramid upside down. The designer finds inspiration in the great world fairs of the 19th century to recreate a fantasy park in which innovation, combined with gigantism, is represented in all its forms: pragmatic, poetic and entirely far-fetched.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
