Why I Love This Pattern: 2013 was given the sporting theme of the year, so to celebrate we can see a sporting motif in this Annie Faivre design. In 387 BC, Plato founded his Academy in the gardens of Akademia, named for the Athenian hero Akademos, where he taught philosophy. Inspired by ancient Greek art and athletic tradition, this design evokes the spirit of the Panhellenic games. Figures drawn from classical vase painters, riders, javelin-throwers, discus athletes, sprinters, and wrestlers come to life in Annie Faivre’s unmistakable style, honoring the elegance and energy of ancient Greece.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
