From The Hermès Fall-Winter 1995/96 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: From 1880 to 1934 the Rue de Bénouville in Paris rejoiced in a free circus and a troupe of generous artistes, all from high society, tasting the old-fashioned delights of amateurism.
