From The Hermes Fall-Winter 1992/93 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Here is Christopher Columbus in all the glory of his discovery, the moment when powerful Europe first set foot on the continent of the future, which it believed was "The Indies". Facing the navigator, who is surrounded by all the attributes of the splendor of Spain, is an Indian covered with gold and crowned with sacred feathers, looking a bit uneasy but also curious about the precise nature of this apparition, believing it might signify the retun of his long-awaited king, Quetzalcoatl.

- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
