From the Hermès Fall-Winter 1996/97 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: From 1909 to 1929, Serge Distghilev, the pyrotechnist of St Petersburg, galvanised Paris with his spectacles, which were a crackling fireworks display of all the arts. And there Nijinski was pushed to the pinnacle of his glory. At these triumphal heights, the god of the dance found only vertigo in his mind. His poignant end makes even more memorable for us those legendary evenings which were lit up by the scenery and costumes of Leon Bakst.

Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
