From The Hermès Spring-Summer 2013 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Meadow flowers and racing cars - a curious combination, but a wonderfully seductive composition. Captured at full tilt, the speedsters whizz by in a blur, suggestive of the extraordinary power and acceleration they are capable of attaining. They are some way off, it seems, because the wildflowers in the foreground appear huge. Tall grasses, roses, Queen Anne's lace - the rustic composition sets us down on the far side of the circuit, far from the deafening roar of the engines, stretched out comfortably in the long, cool grass! Never has a motor race looked so peaceful. Glance quickly at the carré, and you might mistake it for a quiet lake floating with clumps of drifting pollen, captured in slanting shafts of sunlight. Another victory for its designer's boundless Imagination.
