From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2020/21 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Here, two famous scarves are combined into one, like a contemporary coat of arms. One half of the scarf presents a design by Christiane Vauzelles from 1967 in which two leopards frolic in a stylised natural setting. There is a clear harmony between these felines with mischievous grins, emphasised by the understated plant motifs and the symmetry of the design. On the other half, a collection of saddlery buckles designed in the late 1970s by Francoise de La Perrière pays tribute to Thierry Hermès, the Parisian harness-maker and founder of the house.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
