From The Hermes Fall-Winter 2017/18 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: The Fondation Jean-Félicien Gacha in Cameroon holds an important collection of Ndop textiles, whose rich, decorative style has inspired this scarf. A tradition of the Bamileke people in the Cameroonian grasslands, Ndop textiles are made from narrow bands of cotton woven in the north of the country, not far from Garoua. Onto these, women apply motifs using raffia thread. The fabric is then reserve-dyed with indigo. Their varied repertoire is inspired by the motifs used to decorate traditional homes and by the drawings of the Wukari people of Nigeria. Cameroonian fabrics feature abstract motifs, while their Nigerian counterparts favour figurative designs representing men, women, leopards and lizards.

- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
