Notes: The original release of The New Orleans scarf in 1996 included a tribute to jazz composer and pianist Lillian (Lil) Hardin, second wife of Louis Armstrong and widely recognized as the first major female jazz instrumentalist. However, her last name was misspelled as “Harding” on the design. This error was corrected in this 2006 limited edition rerelease, which supported the Louisiana Historical Society, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the New Orleans City Park Carousel Restoration Project.

At the turn of the century the strolling fanfare of brass and wind instruments settled in the bars, joined by the piano, the double bass and the drums, for a jam session to wake the dead. It was the age of the blues, and their vigorous spirit still haunts the famed riverboats, which ply the Mississippi, and whose paddles churn to the legendary names of Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Johnny Dodds and many others

- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
