From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2021/22 Collection Website Description: Present since the Middle Ages in the Middle East, the "buta" motif representing a delicate teardrop leaf, extended to India in the 16th century, and two centuries later adorned large fabrics that were very popular in Southern Asia and Europe. Faced with such success, many British textile manufacturers decided to produce the cashmere shawls themselves. The village of Paisley, in West Scotland quickly gained fame for the quality of their fabric and fine methods, to the point where the motif's name became synonymous with the Scottish village by the end of the 19th century. Designer Aline Honoré reinterpreted it in an elegant and floral version.

Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
