Why I Love This Pattern: This scarf tells the story of the silk process, similar to "L'Arbre de Soie" which I’ve had here before! I’ve always loved the history behind the paisley motif! It originated in Persia as a symbol of an imaginary flower representing love and eventually spread to India, China, and the Middle East. Over time, its design became more simplified and stylized. The name itself comes from Paisley, a Scottish town near Glasgow that became a major textile hub in the late 17th century. It’s amazing to think how this timeless pattern has evolved and traveled across the world! In 2016, Hermes partnered with the Paisley Museum, selecting this design from the many books of samples held in the collections.
