Why I Love This Pattern: We see gauchos in full gallop, crossing the plains of Argentina and southern Brazil with their tunics flowing, silver stirrups flashing, reins in one hand and lassos in the other. These horsemen once carried messages across borders, embodying both freedom and duty. First introduced in 1988, this elegant design by Jean de Fougerolle embraces the rich equestrian heritage preserved in the Saumur Horse Museum and the Emile Hermès collection.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
