Notes: I love the washed silk feel of a dip dye scarf! This is also the only 70cm dip dye that I know of. Here's a video with 8 ways to style it (using the one I have in my personal collection).
From The Hermes Fall-Winter 1988/89 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Argentinian gauchos as seen by the painter Marenco provided inspiration for our "Pampa' scarf. In the vast plains spreading from the Andes to the Atlantic, the gaucho gallops holding both reins in one hand, while with the other he throws his lasso with crack precision. The silver spurs and the chest necklace depicting Saint George slaying the dragon, as well as most of the harness pieces visible, are displayed in the Musée du cheval in Saumur or in Hermès's own collection.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
