Why I Love This Pattern: Kermit Oliver is already an iconic Hermès artist, with many grails under his belt, but this one is so special because it was his debut design Hermès. Pani La Shar Pawnee" is a tribute to the Pawnee people, who once lived on the plains of Nebraska and Kansas before being forcibly relocated to Oklahoma in the late 19th century. Draped in rich attire, Pani La Shar Pawnee holds an intricately carved peace pipe adorned with a galloping horse—his gaze and dignified presence honoring the strength of his people. Surrounding him, peace pipes and bison heads frame the design, while horses and riders, inspired by Karl Bodmer’s 19th-century illustrations, border the composition.
