From The Hermès Fall-Winter 1986-1987 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: In this design, the artist playfully mingled different eras and countries in order to present the central timepiece. The frame is from the period of Napoleon III. the Swiss landscape harks back to the 17th century, the English inner dial is from the 17th century and the outer dial is from the 18th century.
