From the Hermès Spring-Summer 2010 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Nature, always inventive, has decorated fauna with exuberant skins, coverings as splendid as they are protective when it comes to merging into the savannah. A fantasy, which has inspired man's own coverings. From her native Africa and her imaginary travels, Aline Honor has brought back a mosaic full of the sumptuous and the wild. The carré Pelages et Camouflage is a patchwork which mixes up these treasures of primitive prints, gathered together with necklaces of Massai pearls in between, from Senegal or from Ethiopia, a Peul wall-hanging, fabrics from Ghana, Zaire, Mali and craft embroidery. Amongst all these disguises, notice that of an imaginary animal, marked by H's, tipping us the wink!
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
