From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2016/17 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: The French animal painter Henri de Linares, the artist behind the Plumes scarf designed in 1953, found new inspiration among birds and their plumage to give a different perspective to this composition. This time round, the quill feathers of red partridges, jays, pheasants and snipes are organised in circles within the square of the scarf. Each detail conveys the extraordinary lightness and subtle colouring of these feathers, which, from the way they are painted, seem as though they could fly away at the slightest breath. In 1952, along with the historian and storyteller Pierre- Louis Duchartre, Henri de Linares founded the International Museum of Hunting in the Château de Gien, France.
