From The Hermès Spring-Summer 1999 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: In homage to the legendary thinker and mythical scholar whose mastery impressed the ancient world with the authority of a religion, here are three concentric pentagons studded with leaves, grasses fruit and pebbles. Far from the hotchpotch of its luxuriance, Nature shines forth in the order imposed on it by the Mind; for the world is a structure, and its key of universal knowledge is possessed by the Geometer.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
