Why I Love This Pattern: This scarf highlights a military saddle once used by French army generals. Known as the selle d’officier en grande tenue (officer's full dress saddle), it was introduced in 1884 but phased out with the onset of World War I in 1914. Produced by the renowned Parisian firm Bidal et Piat, famed for its military gear, the saddle was crafted from Moroccan leather and velvet. Its design features a bold leaf motif and tiger skin (actually made from panther hide) and elegantly beautiful brass elements.
