About This Pattern: The Émile Hermès collection holds many antique saddles, including a Sino-Mongolian example from Central Asia dating to the later Qing period, around 1832. Made of silk velvet, lapis lazuli, silver, coral, and amber, it was likely created for an important figure and used in ceremonial settings. In 2018, Wlodek Kaminski reinterpreted this remarkable piece as a bandana design. The friezes framing the carré echo the saddle’s intricate decoration, bringing new movement and energy to the pattern.

- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
