From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2012/13 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: A long history binds Robert Dallet to Hermes. Passionate about felines, he excelled in reproducing the sumptuousness of their coats and the nobility of their features, giving them portraits of perfect precision. To extend this collaboration, the house acquired a large collection of his drawings. Among them, this Tigre du Bengale, the natural uniqueness of which stems from a genetic phenomenon called leucism. It was in India, during the first half of the 20th century. that these majestic tigers were observed for the first time. The Maharaja of Rewa got one male captured and his lineage still lives in places of captivity. Inspired by these cals, our colourists have freely reinvented the nuances of their fur.
