From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2020/21 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: The toucan, a climbing bird characteristic of tropical forests, is particularly prevalent in the Amazon. Here, illustrator Katie Scott, who is passionate about biology and renowned for her botanical and animal plates, presents an imaginary species. The birds wave their beaks proudly - no doubt heralding a song that will make them the kings of the woods!Their decorative plumage, characteristic of the bird-of-paradise and the peacock, underlines their rarity and the exotic inspiration of their designer. These elements combine to form a marvellous tableau tinged with naturalism.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
