Why I Love This Pattern: The starting point was simple. The designer wanted to revisit Les Clés and create a modern remix of the original design, which was built around an arrangement of finely detailed keys. When he began studying the scarf, he realized how technical and intricate it actually was. It felt almost like trying to crack a safe. He rotated the composition, tested different alignments, and paid attention to how each element interacted until the structure finally made sense. Offsetting the circles created a new visual “combination,” and adding layers of detail gave it the feel of a complication lock, similar to watchmaking. That process became Tours de Clés. The border of square pyramid studs, a classic Hermès detail used across jewelry, dog collars, belts, and luggage, reinforces the idea of a secure, locked world.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
