Why I Love This Pattern: Designed by Caty Latham, Tout Cuir, French for “All Leather”, pays tribute to Hermès’ leather heritage through silk. The design is filled with bridles, straps, and other leatherwork details, each illustrated with rich color and precision. First issued in the early 2000s, it’s a perfect example of how Hermès can take its most iconic craft and reimagine it in a completely different medium, turning the feel of leather into the flow of silk.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
