From The Hermès Spring-Summer 2011 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Discovered in the Museum of Popular Art in Mexico, the embroidery of Tenango de Doria, peopled with fabled animals and unexpected characters, seemed made to be reproduced on silk twill. As for the difficult conditions of life and work for the inhabitants of this valley, as upholders of this unique craftsmanship, only strengthened Hermes' determination to come to their aid. This is how original embroidery came to be created for this carré. A place to protect their craftsmanship will be built in the Sierra Madre, in the heart of Mexico. The village of Tenango de Doria is hidden in a "mist forest", a world of mystery and poetry. This strange locality shelters fascinating flora and fauna, inspiring these gaily coloured figures.
