Why I Love This Pattern: Australian born illustrator Jeff Fisher has a clean, confident style shaped by the twenty years he has spent living in France. His work appears across books and magazines, and he even published a volume called Birds, which lines up perfectly with the subject of this scarf and marks his first collaboration with Hermès. The design is full of colour and movement, almost noisy with birds that feel like distinct characters. Some have oversized wings, some have sharp little beaks, some look like they came straight out of a storybook, and together they create a scene that feels energetic, layered, and unmistakably his.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
