Why I Love This Pattern: The iconic Brides de Gala design is printed then the silk is perforated and embroidered in cotton thread, a nod to English embroidery. In 1957, Robert Dumas worked with artist Hugo Grygkar. He placed two bridles face to face and realized how perfect this would be for a scarf design and reflects the beginnings of Hermes as an equestrian shop.
Why I Love This Size
The 70cm format is actually my favorite out of all the sizes. I find it small enough where I’m not overwhelmed by fabric, but big enough when I can still do a few fancier knots. The 70cm also uses a lighter weight silk than any of the other sizes, which gives it a casual effortless look. I always recommend this size for petites as well, it’s almost a petite version of a 90cm. But even if you’re taller it works perfectly too.
