From the Hermès Fall-Winter 2016/17 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: An architect by training, Nigel Peake is inspired by habitats of every kind, and discerns a spirit and a philosophy in each building technique. This scarf is a homage to the natural ingeniousness of birds. To their gift for creating a nest - the very symbol of a protective refuge - from almost nothing. To their infinite patience and the countless sorties to and fro that are needed to gather all sorts of twigs, leaves, seaweed, sand or down - elements that are scarcely visible but which, when woven together, become a shelter. In an allegory to this ability shared by all living beings, this scarf assembles feathers, flowers and leafy shoots in a protective circle.

Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
