From The Hermès Spring-Summer 2017 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: An ex-libris is a vignette engraved with a motif, a phrase or initials, which book-lovers stick in their books in order to personalise them. The ex-libris of mile Hermes, grandson of the Parisian house's founder, takes its inspiration from a drawing by the French painter Alfred de Dreux, featuring a groom and carriage, synonymous with the romantic era of Paris. The image draws strength from its simplicity, and has been interpreted numerous times over the years. In this scarf, the illustrator Louis Boquin dresses it in motifs normally used for silk ties, in a play of geometrical lines juxtaposing circles, squares, triangles and letters.

- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
