From The Hermès Spring-Summer 1987 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: There is nothing like fireworks for celebrating great occasions. For Hermès's 150th anniversary. we could not resist the temptation of designing this scarf. The horseman is the one who was cheered by joyful Parisians as he trotted down the Champs-Elysees on the occasion of the celebration of Bastille Day, on July 14. 1801. Through a slight anachronism, which is forgiven in the name of artistic license, he rides amidst the blaze of rockets that illuminated the Venetian skies a century earlier, in honor of the Luzzara victory on September 8. 1702.
Why I Love This Size
The size 45cm is so underrated. It’s small, but mighty. It gives more of a casual bandana look when styled with the triangle in the front. Or when styled in a bias fold, more of an understated French look.
