From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2021/22 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Under the reign of Franz Joseph I of Austria (1848-1916), the Hungarian royal guard was in charge of the Emperor's security and provided his escort. Their mounts wore ceremonial harnesses with gleaming buckles, such as this bridle with its colourful leather straps. The floral motifs were inspired by paintings on wood by the German decorative artist Moritz Meurer which are conserved in the mile Hermes col-lection. By entitling her design Grand Tralala, Virginie Jamin reinvents the spirit of equestrian designs that are so emblematic of the house.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
