Why I Love This Pattern: At the Hermès scarf factory, every creation is a team effort and artist Baptiste Virot knows it well. The character delivering artwork to 24, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré might even be his stand-in. Before any scarf reaches the boutique, it travels through a series of meticulous steps. In Lyon, artisans begin by studying how to create the design. Then comes the challenge of color: selecting just the right tones from thousands of possibilities in the legendary color lab. Only after that does printing begin. Finally, after all the precision and patience comes the magic. The scarf is ready!
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
