From The Hermès Spring-Summer 2022 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: For his second scarf design, the English illustrator Jonathan Burton gently satirises the modern era, in which social media and self-projection encourage all kinds of folly, even the most perilous. Perched on a snowy mountaintop, a rider and her companions strike an acrobatic pose. Should one of them wobble, the whole pyramid will collapse! Despite this precarious balance, they are dressed to the nines in the hope of being captured in their best light. The giraffe wears his bow tie, while the tortoise and pelican have chosen their most elegant hats. The number of 'likes' rising merrily from the phone suggest a successful selfie!
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
