Why I Love This Pattern: A symbol of French equestrian tradition, the Cadre Noir riding school in Saumur hosts horses and riders in its grand indoor arena for their gala performances. The intricate figures performed by these expert riders, along with the rosettes, bridles, and stirrups that adorn the horses, inspired Henri d'Origny to design the Grand Manège scarf in 1990. This iconic Hermès equestrian design was reimagined in 2019 as a two-tone bandana, complete with polka dots, stars, and hearts.
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
