From The Hermès Fall-Winter 1998/99 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: So what is this "Hypnerotomachia Polyphili', in which the pen of Francesco Colonna, at the end of the 15th century, traces the allegorical journey of two lovers who set out in search of Venus? A mixture of courtly romance, esoteric manual, gardening handbook and mythological reverie, from which the reader emerges, telling himself from now on, whenever he sees a sycamore: "He and I are brothers, both of us, two sons incarnated by the same divine dream."
Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
